How to draw: how to draw chibi food
1.chimera= how to draw chibi pokemon
- STEP 1. http://www.dragoart.com/
I'm going to give you a few tips
first off. We'll start with the goat head. I've given you two different views
of a goat head as well as a close up reference on the eyes.
-STEP 2.
I've done
the same for a lion head, including showing you how the lion's mane comes down
off of his head.
-STEP 3.
I've also
done the same thing for the dragon's head.
-STEP 4.
Here I show
you the shape of the lion's front leg and how the paws are shaped.
-STEP 5.
And here is what a goat's leg looks
like from a couple different views as well as the shape of the hoof and where
it splits.
-STEP 6.
I'm going to show you how to draw the
base in a few steps because this is a very complicated critter and you want to
make sure you get everything in the right place. We're going to start with just
the main body; the torso and shoulders, the hips and rear legs.
-STEP 7.
Then we'll put in lines for the
wings, along with the front legs. We'll draw a long curving line for the tail
and end it with a circle, and putting down a cross map as if we were going to
draw a face here... because we are.
-STEP 8.
Then we'll draw in the shapes for
each head, from left to right, goat, lion, and then dragon and then drawing
lines to connect them to the shoulders and chest.
- STEP 9.
We'll draw the goat's head first,
starting with the shape of the head and then moving to the features of the face
and beard. From there we'll draw the neck and lastly we'll draw in the horns.
-STEP 10.
We'll start with the shape of the
lion's head next along with his mouth and his nose. From there we'll draw in
all his sharp pointy teeth along with the inside of his mouth and the part
above his upper lip. Then we'll draw in his eyes and his brows and all the folds
in his skin around them. Next comes the ears and then lastly we'll draw in his
mane.
-STEP 11.
Next
we come to the dragon's head. doing the same and starting with the shape of his
face first along with the shape of his nose and his mouth. We'll draw in the
cheek lines and the eyes in next and the ridges from the scales along his nose.
We'll do the fin along his spine next along with along with the neck and the
spikes coming off the cheeks. Lastly we'll draw his horns and the ridges on the
neck.
-STEP 12.
After we have all the heads drawn,
we'll start on the front legs, bringing one paw up and putting the other out as
if he's trying to stabilize himself while flying.
-STEP 13.
Then we'll draw in the chest and
bring the lines down to draw the torso.
-STEP 14.
From there we'll draw the his hind
legs, drawing them a little hairy looking with some hairs sticking down and out
from the joints. Also make sure to end each leg in a hoof.
-STEP 15.
We'll bring the tail down and around
and draw the shape of our snake head at the end of the tail. We'll add a few
groupings of scales along the tail as well.
-STEP 16.
We'll draw out the face of the snake
next, drawing the fangs and inside of the mouth along with the eyes.
-STEP 17.
Lastly we'll
draw the wings, bringing them up and around the body.
-STEP 18.
And there
you have it. Your very own chimera!
2.sea creature=
-STEP 1.
Make two circles, one for the head
and the other for the body. Draw a long curved neck line and then another for
the tail.
-STEP 2.
Now you will sketch the front part of
the snout for the creature like so, and then make the lining of the under bite
that exposes the sharp looking teeth.
-STEP 3.
You will now need to sketch out the
actual structure of the face by drawing out the jawline. The pointed chin also
needs to be drawn, and then draw the marks or gum line for the teeth. Next,
draw in the creatures oblong sized eye, color in the eye but leave a shape for
the eyeball. Lastly, lightly sketch in some marks and scales on the face for
added texture detailing to the skins surface.
-STEP 4.
Next, begin drawing out the fin like
horns for the sea creatures head and formation. The lining along the edges
needs to be uneven and notched.
-STEP 5.
In this step you will be drawing out
the entire body of the sea creature. Start under the head and begin drawing out
the neck, then move forward to sketching out the chest, back, belly, and tail.
Before leaving this step you have to draw the fins and like the head fins the
edges need to be notched and rugged.
-STEP 6.
You really need to take your time as
you sketch out the sea creatures neck, back and and tail fins or frills. The
edges are also very rugged and they also have some pointed tips. Sketch in some
rib lining and then move to step seven where you will be finishing off this sea
creature.
-STEP 7.
Okay guys you have come to the last
step. As you can see you will be adding the texture detailing on the skin of
the creature. But before you do this you have to clean up the mistakes and
guidelines that you drew in previous steps. When you are done, start sketching
in the scales, pattern on the skin, and then draw the other fin.
-STEP 8.
Here is what
your drawing of a sea creature looks like when you are done. Color in the beast
like so, and show off your skills to anyone that will look.
3.kirin=
-STEP 1.
Begin by making two shapes, one for
the head and the other for the body. Connect the two shapes with a neck line
which should also be made in the position the neck will be in.
-STEP 2.
Next, start drawing your kirin from
the side starting with the ear, then make the shape of the face including the snout
and horn. Once that is done draw the long curved neck which then turns into the
chest. With a new stroke, draw the first leg but make sure the end of the hoof
has long hair flowing from it.
-STEP 3.
We will continue to work on one side
of the kirin's body by drawing the length of the mane. Notice how it touches
the ground. Draw the wavy long hair like you see here, then draw the other
front leg as well as the hoof. Before you leave draw a thick, bold lined eyelid
then make the shape for the eyeball. Add a nostril then you're done.
-STEP 4.
We will finish drawing the kirin's
body excluding the tail. Make the wavy pattern for the back part of the mane,
then draw the back, butt, and hind legs. The hair should also flow off the
bottom of the hooves like the front legs.
-STEP 5.
Finish off this fantasy figure by
drawing the crimped flowing long tail, then add all the strand detailing on the
mane and tail. Draw a hoof as well as the toe lines. Erase the mistakes you
made before you leave this step.
-STEP 6.
Now that
you're done you can start coloring in your kirin that you just created. I hope
you had fun, as well as enjoyed this lesson on drawing a kirin for kids style.
4.cemberus=
-STEP 1.
Begin with making two simple shapes,
one for the head and another for the body. Add a connecting line which is the
frame for the neck like so.
-STEP 2.
In this step you will draw the side
profile of the first head of the cerberus. These animals look a lot like dogs
or even wolves. Make the forehead, snout, jawline and then the ear. The back of
the neck should be fluffed up as well.
-STEP 3.
Make the
lining for the front part of the neck, then draw the arched back as well as the
hind leg and front leg. The front and back paws are to be rounded and squared.
-STEP 4.
Okay guys, you are now ready to draw
the rest of the heads and since this is a three headed beast, you will only
need to draw three heads. Make the fluffy chest, as well as the other visible
leg. Draw the tail then proceed on.
-STEP 5.
Make the ears then draw the eyes.
Sketch in the noses on all three heads and you are all done. Add the lines for
the paws too. Erase the mistakes than all is finished.
-STEP 6.
Here is your cerberus for kids when
you are all done. Now you can get busy coloring in your three headed dog or
beast.
5.cute mashmellow=
-STEP 1.
Draw one marshmallow shape for the
first step like so, and I'm sure none of you will have a problem making this
shape.
-STEP 2.
Draw the other marshmallow and
instead of making a whole piece, just draw the shape with the back end missing
-STEP 3.
Draw a dip at the top of the
marshmallow and then draw in the first face. This consists of eyes and a mouth.
-STEP 4.
For the last drawing step you will
repeat what you just did in step three, and be sure to color in those jellybean
shaped eyes. Draw a mouth and erase any mistakes.
-STEP 5.
Now that you
are done, you have a complete drawing of two cute marshmallows that are to die
for. I hope you liked this lesson in a small way.

6.red bird
chibi(angry bird)=
-STEP 1.
The first thing you want to do is
draw a thick circle shape then sketch in some facial guidelines.
-STEP 2.
Using that
shape, draw out the body, then draw the two thick feathers on the head.
-STEP 3.
Draw out a
simple tail which is just three thick lines joined together in a flaring pose.
-STEP 4.
Next, draw the large, thick, bold,
wide V for the expressive eyebrows which makes this bird look angry.
-STEP 5.
Sketch out the large eye shapes like
so, then draw in the small beak which also has a mean or angry look.
-STEP 6.
Color in the wide eyeballs, then add
your stomach lining for the two toned look. Erase the mistakes if you made any
folks.
-STEP 7.
Here is the
finished drawing when you're done. Color in this angry bird to bring it to
life.
7.green bird chibi(angry bird)=
-STEP 1.
Make a dew drop shape like you see
here for the body guide of your green Angry bird in chibi form.
-STEP 2.
Simply draw out the shape of the body
just by going over the shape you just made in step one.
-STEP 3.
The next thing you will do is draw
out the beak which is open. The beak sort of looks like a scissor, so keep that
in mind when you tackle this step.
-STEP 4.
Draw the belly lining like so, then
add detailing inside of the beak.
-STEP 5.
Draw in the
feathers on the top of the head, as well as the tail feathers.
-STEP 6.
Now you will draw out the long
eyebrow which thickens at the end. When that is done draw out the actual shape
of the eye.
-STEP 7.
Color in the pupil, then you're done.
If there was any mistakes made through out the drawing process, erase them now.
-STEP 8.
Here is your green colored Angry bird
in chibi form. Color it in and you're done
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
8.stegosaurs=
-STEP 1.
Make a circle for the head, and then
draw out a neck line that connects to an egg shaped body. You will then draw
out a face guide.
-STEP 2.
Now you will be sketching out the
shape of the head, and bottom jaw that makes a mouth smiling.
-STEP 3.
Draw out the
dinosaur's eye, and then draw in the eyeball. You will then draw a slice for
the nose hole and then draw out the marking line on the mouth to represent the
hard lines texture.
-STEP 4.
Now is the
time that you will be drawing out the body of this adorable dinosaur. Start
with the thick stubby looking neck, and then draw out the chest, belly, and
then both the front and hind legs. You should also add some crease or folds at
the ankles of the back foot.
-STEP 5.
You will finish drawing the rest of
the dinosaur's body by making the tail. Next, draw out the rest of the legs,
and then draw in the toe nails on each foot.
-STEP 6.
Finish this drawing by sketching out
every plat like bone that starts behind the head, and travels down the neck,
back, and tail. At the tip of the tail draw in three spikes and then start
cleaning up the drawing for completion.
-STEP 7.
Here is what your cute drawing of a
stegosaurus for kids looks like when you are done. Now you can color in this
dinosaur, and add it to your drawing collection.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
9.chinese
dragon=
- STEP 1.
First off we're going to start with a
frame for our dragon, we'll make a long winding line with three ovals. One for
the head, one for where the arms will come out and another for the legs.
- STEP 2.
Then we'll draw the shape of the head
and the general shape of the face.
- STEP 3.
Now we'll draw out the pupils, and
the dragon's eye whiskers and give him some scales, spines and some horns.
- STEP 4.
Now we'll start drawing out the body,
coming down from the neck and bringing it down and a round.
- STEP 5.
We'll stop so that we can draw on the
forelegs before continuing on with the rest of the dragon's body.
- STEP 6.
We'll
continue on with the body and bring the lines up and around.
- STEP 7.
Now just like the front legs, we're
going to stop and add the hind legs.
- STEP 8.
Now we'll bring the tail down and
around, curling it back at the end.
- STEP 9.
Then we can add the rest of the
spines, scales on both the body and the underside and add some hair at the end
of the tail.
- STEP 10.
And there you have it. A chinese
dragon for kids. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
10.demiveemon=
-STEP 1.
Draw circle for his head and two
circles for his eyes. Draw a circle for his body and two ovals for his legs and
then three swirled lines for his ears and tail.
-STEP 2.
Draw on his eyes first and then draw
on his mouth. And then draw the rest of his head and then his ears.
-STEP 3.
Draw on his
little and then draw on his beginning of the leg and then rest of his body.
-STEP 4.
And then
finish drawing on his leg.
-STEP 5.
And finally
draw on his tail and ur done.
-STEP 6.
Now that your done you can color it
:DDDD Don't let this little guy go with out color O.O
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
11.gabumon=
-STEP 1.
Are you ready to get busy and draw
Gabumon? Good, let's get started. First draw a circle for his head, and then
draw out the shape of the body, and long ape like arms. Lastly, add the
guidelines for the face.
-STEP 2.
Now start drawing out the shapes for
the eyes, nose, and mouth line. The ends of the eyes flare out like flames.
Color in the nose, and then move to the next step.
-STEP 3.
Gabumon is a very unique looking
Dgimon because when he digivolves, his face looks like there is a mask hanging
over the real face. You will now begin sketching out the actual shape of his
head, and then draw in the pushed back ears that are very pointed. There really
isn't too many sharp edges to this Digimon's design, which makes him pretty
easy to draw. Once the ears are drawn, you can then draw the horn that is
piercing out from his forehead, and then add some eyeballs, and colored pupils.
Draw two tiger like stripes on his top jaw, and then move to the next step.
-STEP 4.
Now you can sketch out the big
gorilla like arm shapes, and at the ends they sort of look like wooden mallets.
Draw the claws at the tips, and then draw the belly. Once that is complete you
can sketch in the tiger stripes on the arms like you see here.
-STEP 5.
For your last step all you have to do
is draw four sharp looking teeth on each side of the mouth, and then draw the
back legs, and stomach design on this Digimon's belly. Erase the lines and
shapes that you drew in step one, and you are now done.
-STEP 6.
This is how your drawing looks when
you are done. Get out your markers, crayons, paint, or colored pencils to start
shading in your character that you just drew. Wasn't drawing a Digimon fun?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
12.veemon=
-STEP 1.
Draw a circle for his head and a oval
for his mouth/muzzle.Now draw 4 more circles for his body his hands and his
legs.Next draw on the half an oval feet base then draw on the curved lines for
his ears and tail.
-STEP 2.
Draw on his mouth/muzzle first then
draw on his eyes.Next draw the rest of his head on and his ears.Don't forget
his eye mark and forehead mark :).Draw on his arm and his fist then work you
way back up by drawing on part of his leg and his body. Lastly draw on his
other arm and his hand with his claws.
-STEP 3.
Start drawing on the beginning of his
leg and then finish his leg off with he's footsie ^_^ then draw on his other
foot :DDD
-STEP 4.
Lastly draw on his tail and any other
details you may have missed or forgotten :))))))
-STEP 5.
YAYYYYYYYY
ur done :DDDDD Now if ya want you can color it :3 I hope you enjoyed this tut.
STEP 5.
13.hydra dragon=
-STEP 1.
Let's get started. You will need to
draw out a series of shapes and guidelines for a workable body frame for your
hydra. Make three egg shapes for the heads, then add the facial guidelines.
Next, make the shape of the body, then add the tail and neck lines like so.
- STEP 2.
We will tackle one head at a time
when drawing the hydra faces. Start with the muzzle. Draw out the very sharp
edged facial structure. The bottom jaw should overlap the top jaw. Make the
brow bone or bump.
- STEP 3.
Finish the head by drawing out the
horns like so. As you can see the ends or tips of each horn have a tapered
point. Sketch out the eye, as well as the gill like frills on the back part of
the jaw. Sketch in detailing to the frills and forehead like so.
- STEP 4.
Since this is an end head and neck
this hydra is going to have one of the shoulder sides. Sketch out the thick
slightly bent neck, then draw the part of the back, shoulder, and muscle
definition.
- STEP 5.
Start this step by drawing out the
second head to this three headed beast. Tackle this task the very same way you
started the process to drawing the first hydra head. The only difference will
be the mouth. This hydra has a slightly open mouth.
- STEP
6.
Finish the rest of the head with the
horns, frills and eye. Sketch in all the necessary definition and details.
- STEP 7.
Begin sketching out the neck starting
at the back of the head. Draw the front section of the neck, then draw in the
chest.
-STEP 8.
We will sketch out the chest of this
beast, followed by the first front leg and foot, talon or claw. Be sure to
sketch in all the muscle and hand definitions.
-STEP 9.
Draw the last two heads like so. take
your time so they all look like they are part of the same beast. Make sure to
draw out all the necks too. You don't want a floating head do you?
-STEP 10.
Slowly sketch out the entire back
like which is also part of the tail. When that is done you can sketch out the
belly and hind leg. Draw the contours of the leg, then add all the definition
too.
-STEP 11.
Almost done guys. You will now take
your time as you tackle the task of drawing the spiny frills that flows down
the hydra's neck and back. When all the spikes are drawn, you can add detailing
to the centers.
-STEP 12.
Draw in the rest of the limbs
followed by the tail. The tail is actually drawn with some straight edges. Add
the body definition, then you can begin erasing the mistakes as well as guides.
-STEP 13.
Add the neck and belly scales, then
draw the bone etching on the horns. Add some minor detailing in the areas you
see small spots of red.
-STEP 14.
Here is how your hydra comes out
looking when you are all done. Of course not all of you will end up with a
perfect drawing, but if you practice long enough, you will produce your perfect
piece of art. I have still yet to draw mine.
14.pikachu ganggam style=
-STEP 1.
Make a circle for the head, then
sketch in the facial guidelines. Draw and attach the body.
-STEP 2.
Using the guide you just made, draw
out the shape of Pikachu's face. Draw in the long oblong ears before you leave
this step.
-STEP 3.
Next, draw in the black sunglasses
like so, then draw Pikachu's mouth, nose, and his cheek shapes. Add the lining
to the tips of the ears like so, then you're done.
-STEP 4.
Draw out the body which looks like
the stem of a mushroom. Draw in the small feet, then proceed to step five.
-STEP 5.
Draw the arms and hands which are
crossed over one another. Draw in the tiger stripes on each of his body.
-STEP 6.
For the last drawing step all you have
to do is draw the large bolt like tail. Erase the mistakes than you're done.
-STEP 7.
Now that everything is cleaned up,
you can color in the drawing to finish him off.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
15.zombie
unicorn=
-STEP 1.
Draw two
circles for the head and body like so. Add a face guide and then move to step
two.
-STEP 2.
Begin sketching out the very boxy
shape of the unicorn's head and face structure. As you can see the snout is
small but strong looking and the horn is pointed and sturdy. Draw in the ears
and then sketch in some hair on the head for its mane.
-STEP 3.
This zombie unicorn has a very strong
emo type style for the face. Sketch in the long bangs from the mane, and then
draw out each very dead, or lifeless eyes. Darken the areas under and around
the actual shape of the eye and then add some detailing on the cheeks, ears,
and snout. The muzzle of the unicorn is tied with a bandage wrap. Draw the
lines on the horn and move to step four.
-STEP 4.
Now is the time to start drawing out
the zombie unicorn's body. Begin with the neck, chest, and first front leg.
There is no hoof as of yet, but there will be in later steps. For now, just
draw in the spiked ankle shackle and make the spikes within it. Sketch out the
loop from muzzle bandage and move to step five.
-STEP 5.
Draw in the other front leg and then
make sure that there is a hoof peeking through the long leg hair, and then draw
in a few gashes n the leg like so.
-STEP 6.
Draw out the back leg and hoof, and
then sketch in more cuts and gashes to the top part of the thigh. Draw the
belly line and sketch in the detailing.
-STEP 7.
For the last drawing step, all you
have to do is draw out the long flowing beautiful tail. This is probably the
nicest tail I have ever drawn on a horse before. Add detailing to the tail like
hair strands, and clean up the drawing and you're done.
-STEP 8.
When you feel like the zombie unicorn
looks good to your liking, you can start coloring in the beast. I hope you
liked drawing my interpretation of a zombie unicorn.
16.baby phonix=
-STEP 1.
First, let's begin with the basic
guidelines for our Phoenix hatchling. Like I said beforehand, take your time
with the guidelines since the accuracy totally depends on it. You can trace the
guides but do not trace the rest of the steps after Step 1.
-STEP 2.
Then, we shift our attention to the
head of the baby phoenix. Notice how it's small and egg like to create a more
younger appearance. Take your time when you get the beak area.
-STEP 3.
Next, time to finish the head with
the feathers at the top of its head and the large eyes that make this baby
phoenix EXTRA cute!
-STEP 4.
Before we sketch the body, we must
first draw the egg so the body will fit into it properly. Make sure you create
a line horizontally to create a boundary where you'll know to place the body
from the distance of the head and egg
-STEP 5.
Lastly, finish off the body! Keep
note that the wings should be diagonally across from each other. This will make
them look in the proper perspective.
-STEP 6.
With further
proofing and proportion check, you should have something similar to this. You
can ink your drawing digitally like I did or use traditional Micron pens to
create nice thick lines like the drawing above. I hope ya'll enjoyed this
lesson, thanks for viewing!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
17.phonix=
-STEP 1.
Star with two shapes, one for the
head and another for the bottom. Connect them both with a neck line.
-STEP 2.
Draw the actual shape of the baby
phoenix's head like so, then add the feathery tufts at the back of the head.
Draw in the small beak, then draw the back of the neck.
-STEP 3.
As you know these birds of hope have
three circles on the tips of their head feathers. Draw those in like so, then
sketch out the chest, wing and then the clawed foot as well as some of the leg.
-STEP 4.
The next thing you will need to do
his draw out the large eye. Make sure that the lining for the lid is thick,
bold, and dark. Add lashes, then the pupil.
-STEP 5.
Almost done folks. Draw in more of
the large wing, then draw in the long soft looking feathery tail. Finish the
body by sketching out the other thigh and foot.
-STEP 6.
Lastly, add another piece of the tail
feather. Erase the mistakes and you're done.
-STEP 7.
Now that you are all done, you can
start coloring in your baby phoenix drawing that you just made.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
17.baby
mermaid=
-STEP 1.
Let's get started by drawing an egg
shape for the head of your baby mermaid, then add a guideline through the
center.
-STEP 2.
Draw out the lower portion of the
mermaid's face like so, then draw in the arm and hand which is going to be
touching her mouth.
-STEP 3.
Here you will start drawing out her
lovely hairstyle which is simple, combed and neat. I drew in a pretty flower
from the sea in her hair as well because as you know true mermaid often have
something in their hair that brings attention.
-STEP 4.
Like most of my chibi figures, you
will draw out a pair of large round eyes, then sketch in some dainty lashes.
Once that is done draw finger lines on her hand, as well as her nose.
-STEP 5.
You are already almost done. All you
need to do here is draw out the torso, right arm and hand, more of her hair,
then draw the baby style mermaid tail.
-STEP 6.
Add the scale detailing to the tail
and fins, as well as a band line around the waist like you see here. Erase the
mistakes that you made then you are all set to color her in.
-STEP 7.
If you want to add something to her
attire or change something about her appearance, go right ahead and do so.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
18.kirin(2)=
-STEP 1.
I'm going to start off with a few
tips, starting out with just a few tips on different types of horns. Horns can
differ depending on climate and how many horns or spikes you want them to have.
They can be more like the horns of an antelope or a deer. Or they can be more
like the horns of a dragon. You can do ram horns or even moose like horns if
you wish. Here are a few different examples.
-STEP 2.
They're hooves can also be a bit
different depending on the sorts of terrain they live in. They can have narrow
sharp hooves for rocky and mountainous terrains or they can have round flat
hooves, great for keeping them from sinking into either snow or sand.
-STEP 3.
Their scales grow in patches both
large and small and are scattered over their bodies and intermixed with fur and
hair. They can have a few groups of scales or their body can be utterly covered
in them. Scales also come in different sizes, varying from small to large.
-STEP 4.
Now we can
move on to drawing a kirin. We're going to start with a base. We'll draw a
circle for the head with a shape coming out of the front for the nose and then
bring down a long line for the neck. We'll draw a triangular shape for the
chest region and a half oval for the hips. We'll connect those two shapes with
a line and then bring lines out for all four legs and the tail.
-STEP 5.
From there we will draw the shape of
the head, snout and the front of the neck. We'll also draw in the shape of his
ear and his mouth as well as part of his jaw.
-STEP 6.
Next we'll draw in the rest of his
face and draw in the details of his ears and draw his horns. We'l also include
the start of his mane.
-STEP 7.
Now we'll start drawing in the legs,
starting with the front. We'll and them off looking shaggy and hairy.
-STEP 8.
Then after that, we add in the front
hooves. I made mine sharp and narrow but feel free to be different. And we'll
also start drawing the rest of the body, drawing a line along the belly and a
line along the back.
-STEP 9.
And then we'll do the back legs the
same as we did the front.
-STEP 10.
And the same goes for the hooves as
well. We're going to start the tail here too, drawing a thick tube coming up
from the back.
-STEP 11.
Now we can draw in the rest of his
mane and the hair on his tail. We'll make it shaggy looking like the hair on
his legs.
-STEP 12.
After that we're going to add some
detail into the hair, giving it some definition. I gave mine a little braid on
the side.
-STEP 13.
Time for scales. First we'll draw
patched on the face and the neck.
-STEP 14.
And then the torso
-STEP 15.
And lastly the legs and tail. We'll
also draw in some ridges on the horns (this is optional).
-STEP 16.
And there
you have it. How to draw a Kirin.
19 .4 robot wolfty=
-STEP 1.
Alright guys you're in for a rare
treat today! I have for you not One, not Two, not even Three, but FOUR Cyber
Wolf Mechas for you to learn how to draw in this Tutorial! That's right I said
FOUR CYBER WOLF MECHA, in FOUR DIFFERENT STYLES!! So let's get this thing
rollin' shall we! First up is the Pack leader! 1. This is going to be the Pack
Leader, so I want him to look strong, durable and have maximum mobility! I
decided to design him to have a more Bio-Organic looking structure than most
Mecha I draw! The result is a kind of rubber looking metal armor, but since it
was looking a bit too much like rubber I thought of adding some LEDs all over
his body to help give him a more futuristic/Tron-like look! When drawing
Bio-metal type Mechas you'll want to have your designs looking very smooth,
almost aero-dynamic in structure. So let's start with a nice simple skeleton.
We'll need just a few simple shapes to plot out a pose. Now we'll start bulking
him up with a few ovals and curves to give him a nice muscle structure!
Remember, for Organic mecha you want to use round shapes and curves to define
your mecha! Sharp edges should be limited to Weapons or really important
features!
-STEP 2.
2. Now that we have a pretty decent
looking structure for our wolf, we can start finalizing our sketch with more
defined lines and details! I wanted the leader to look more advanced in
technology than the rest of the pack, so I tried to keep his design as "Basic"
as possible and opted for a simple, but effective Tron-like light pattern to go
on his body!
-STEP 3.
Leader
-STEP 4.
3. Up next is the Pack Warrior! I
wanted a nice ferocious, wild looking wolf, for this I thought I would go with
the concept of "Werewolves" and give him lots of furry parts
protruding from his head, mane and buttocks, then finish off with a nice bushy
tail! So we'd start this one with a nice skeletal structure, (still keeping it
simple) with a nice muscular upper-body build! Now notice how in the bulk-up
process I've put a lot of round shapes and sharp edge shapes together! You
might think that that would violate one of the rules I mentioned before about
mixing Organic and Machine shapes together wouldn't you?
-STEP 5.
4. The thing that keeps this
character in compliance with the rules is that I MADE SURE the two shapes were
balanced by using curves on the shapes that come to a sharp edge the whole way
around till the end! The curves on both shapes create the "harmony"
between the two shapes that I often speak of! Now that a suitable base has been
made, I can start adding in my details to give the shapes more dimension and
finish my wolf!
-STEP 6.
Warrior
-STEP 7.
5. Next in line is the right hand of
the Pack Leader, The Assassin/Bodyguard! I wanted to add a bit of diversity to
the all male group, so I decided this one's design should be of female origin.
I wanted her to be quick on her feet, lethal for sure, but at the same time
have a shy, gentle somewhat elegant stature! For her skeletal structure I'm
going with a nice pose that says calm, collective and obedient, so what better
than the heel posture! In the bulk-up phase of the design I wanted to further
emphasize her female features by giving her a nice slender build like that of a
greyhound or fox and give her an image of radiance, yet remind the viewer of
her assassin nature as well with deadly weapons, like a hydrangea flower!
-STEP 8.
6. Once I'd decided that she would
wield buzzsaw blades, It was clear that the theme for my final draft of her
should be razor sharp, so I began to plot out where I could add accents to her
frame to further illustrate the idea. I decided her crown should be adorned
with blades, but not so much as to draw too much attention away from the rest
of her design. Her mane I figured would look great as knives, so I chose to
give her a few with a curved fold-out knife for her tail!
-STEP 9.
Assassin/Bodyguard
-STEP 10.
7. Alright guys, this is the last
member of the Pack, The Muscle! The last wolf of the group I felt should be
built like a walking tank, or other heavy artillery vehicle and look really
outdated in it's design when compared to the rest of the Pack! For this I
decided to go with a Geometric (blocky) build for my Mecha! I started with a
simple build for the skeleton (as always), emphasizing how heavily armored this
Mecha will be by have it hunched over forward slightly in the direction of his
heavier upper-body, to further illustrate the difference in weight of the two
portions of its body! With a Mecha built this low to the ground you can pretty
much guess that it's pretty low on mobility!
-STEP 11.
8. I also wanted to give him a nice
weapon to complement his body posture! I didn't want a cannon, because that was
TOO average for what I'd had in mind! I decided on chain guns instead and an
assortment of nuts, gears and bolts for this guy, to give him the look of a
tired old war machine. Now that I have a basic concept of what I want my Mecha
to look like, I can start finalizing my sketch!
-STEP 12.
9. Now I can add in little details to
give this old war-hardened wolf a little personality, like a permenant frown on
its face, nuts, gears and bolts to give him a much older look than the others
in the Pack!
-STEP 13.
The Muscle AND that's all there is to
it! Another tutorial on How To Draw MECHA from yours truly! I hope this
Tutorial was VERY helpful to you all! ~KenshinEien~

20.robot
dragon=
-STEP 1.
1.Okay, so want to learn how to draw
a dragon mecha! Well there are few things I'll need to point out first before
we begin! First-off is Structure! Everything in the world is built up from
basic shapes, Circles, Ovals, Ellipses, Rectangles, Triangles, Trapezoids and
many more, but without lines to connect them you might not ever create really
good objects. Using these basic shapes and lines together we are able to create
amazing objects. Take this cola can for instance; It is made up of Circles,
Ovals/Ellipses and a few straight Lines. By themselves, they aren't much to
look at, but once they are put together they create a pretty impressive object!
Simple right, but how do you get from a bunch of Lines and Shapes to something
like a Dragon Mecha? Well follow along and I'll show you!
-STEP 2.
2.What
you'll need is a plan and resources to get you started, so grab anything that
you can find. Pics of Dragons and other animals, Machines (inside and out),
Buildings, things in Nature, Lego building blocks(Especially ones from the
Technic series) those are really helpful! These Items will come in handy later!
Now think about what type of dragon you want to draw. A Land Mech, a Sea Mech,
or maybe a Sky Mech! Once you have which type you want to draw, you can move on
to the next step. For this Tutorial we'll go with a Sky Mech! We'll need to
first start by creating a Skeleton for our dragon, just follow the steps, it's
easy!
-STEP 3.
3.That's not bad! See how easy that
was, now we have a skeleton we can build upon and we used a lot of the lines
and basic shapes I spoke of earlier! Now since this is going to be a Whelp
Mecha, I'll need to build it's body mass up like that of a baby dragon. Now we
go to our resources to find a picture of a baby dragon, if we don't already
know what one looks like! Look at it's features, is it chubby, slender, or a
little muscular, maybe it's a combination of all three. Above all else the
dragons body features must be a lot shorter than that of an adult. These are
the things you must keep in mind to represent one correctly as a Mecha! Now
start bulking up your skeleton (Keeping in mind the dragons muscle structure
when building it up. Do you want it to look more machine-like or organic?). The
more machine-like you want it to be- the more rigid your lines and shapes need
to be. It' just the opposite for organic machines, where you'll need to
concentrate more on making smoother shapes and curved lines! We'll go with an
organic look for this dragon.
-STEP 4.
4.We'll create with round curvy-type
shapes. You want to give an impression of metallic muscle when working on an
organic Mecha, so try to pay close attention to that especially when working on
the legs, chest and back! Draw circles or ovals on both sides where certain
body parts will bend, like around the wrists, forearms, hind or lower parts of
the legs and wing sections. When drawing spikes for your dragon, it's best (in
my opinion) to round-out the sharp ends, unless they're to be used as weapons!
-STEP 5.
5.Keep going, We're almost there! Add
Lines and shapes to further define your dragon. With this dragon I wanted to
put emphasize on it's flight capabilities, so instead of just plane old wings
that flap, I made them into thrusters whose feather-like protrusions fan out
from the side, also added some boosters for extra thrust on the tail-end for
extra impact. Simple additions like these can make your creations more
impressive, so long as you don't over do it!
-STEP 6.
6.Sometimes, if not often, your not
going to like your first attempt at this! Remember it's part of the learning
process. You WILL get better at this the more you practice! I was not liking
the way her mouth was looking and those spikes on her head weren't too
flattering either. Those spikes were really bothering me, I wanted something
that would convey the idea of machine more, so I started thinking. What do
machines have on, or in them? Spikes (rarely), exhaust pipes (alright, but too
generic), screws (yeah, it's different, but could work), then it hit me, Cogs!
(Those scream machine!). So I swapped out the spikes for the cog design and
added some minor details to the wings and viola, I'm finally satisfied, now all
that's left is to finalize it with some nice crisp lines!
-STEP 7.
7.Now comes
the best part... CUSTOMIZE THAT BABY!! Start adding in little details, exhaust
holes for steam, or smoke to spew out from. Nose holes, ventilation grates,
anything you can think of to help breathe life into your dragon. If you find it
too hard to come up with on your own, take a look at your resources to draw
inspiration, It's what they're there for! Draw extra lines on objects that look
to flat to give those parts a sense of depth and dimension. Make sure you
remember to round-off your sharp edges since this is suppose to be an
organic-looking dragon. Too many sharp objects could conflict with the overall
harmony of the smoother shapes! Notice how I rounded-off the edges of the cogs
coming out of her head. Now they blend in more with the rest of the shapes in
the image. The claws are fine, since they can be used as weapons, serve a
purpose.
-STEP 8.
8.Round-out those shoulders don't
forget to accent those moving parts. Think rubber insulation, or springs,
things that bend. Robots usually have some type of insulation protecting
delicate parts in that region. Also define those forearms, think screws, nut
and bolts! Things that hold parts together, a few here and there usually fitted
around heavy parts.
-STEP 9.
9.Almost done, that's looking pretty
good so far! Keep adding details. You may want add things like small holes, or
grates that allows a person to look inside at vital parts or circuitry. Objects
furthest from view usually don't need to be too detailed unless they are meant
to draw a persons attention to it, in which case it should be placed in the
foreground of the image somewhere.
-STEP 10.
10.Congratulations, your hard work
has finally paid-off! You made it through to the very end and now I hope you
have a better understanding of how to approach the often-times very frustrating
concept of drawing Dragon Mecha. Remember to use all of the resources at your
disposal! The Internet is the best way to find research material for anything
you need help with! Follow all of the steps in this tutorial and you'll be on
your way to creating BIGGER more complex Mechas in no time! PRACTICE, PRACTICE,
PRACTICE!! I hope this tutorial was helpful to you all! ~KenshinEien~
21.grphon=
-STEP 1.
Draw three circles. One for the head,
the chest and the behind. The line down the head helps you figure out were to
draw the eyes which we will draw later on.
-STEP 2.
Next draw simple shapes for paws,
shoulders, legs, and a curvy line for the tail. Also leave circles on the head
to help you place the ears.
-STEP 3.
Now use the circles to help you draw
his pointy ears. Also draw a guide line for the neck and lines for the arms and
hind legs.
-STEP 4.
Finally for the last guide lines draw
circles on his paws for his toes. Also draw a funky pear shape on his head to
help you place the beak. Last, draw guide lines for the wings. Please look
closely at these guidelines.
-STEP 5.
Now its time to draw drawing! First
start drawing his beak, it should be sharp and pointy. Then draw him some eyes
and for his head and cheeks sketch out some fluffy fur.
-STEP 6.
Also add some more fluff to his chest
area. We add fluff because gryphons have manes like lions. Then sketch out his
ears. Gryphons can have other types of ears, but for mine I am going to use
'web' ears. You can also use 'owl' type ears or 'lion' type ears.
-STEP 7.
Remember he is fluffy so when drawing
his arms add some fluffy. No need to try to hard on making fur and hair on
creatures. The more time you spend on trying to make it perfect the less realistic
it looks.
-STEP 8.
His back legs should be simple paws,
and his hands should be razor sharp claws.
-STEP 9.
Time for the hard part, the wings.
Drawing wings take a lot of time and practice. Here you can simply use the
guidelines, but if you want different poses for the wings I suggest looking and
studying real like bird photos. The feathers should be spread out and flowing
free.
-STEP 10.
Finally draw him a long lion like
tail. It should have a fluffy part at the end of it.
-STEP 11.
Now just add a nice black outline and
coloring him in anyway you like
-STEP 12.
Gryphons can be any color. Mine is a
traditional gryphon so he will be basic shades of browns and orange.
-STEP 13.
Just add some fun shading and your
done! You can use pencils, markers, or your favorite art program! Good luck!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
22.baby
griffon=
-STEP 1.
Begin the first step by making a
round shape or circle like so. This is for the griffin's head.
-STEP 2.
Using the shape you just made, begin
sketching out the shape of the face, as well as the puffy hair on the forehead.
Don't forget to draw out the ear and back of the neck or head too.
-STEP 3.
The next thing you want to do is draw
a huge eyeball, then color in the actual eye. Add some pretty lashes, then make
the mark on the beak for the snout. Draw the other ear, then add detail inside.
-STEP 4.
You are almost done. Draw the rest of
the neck, then sketch out the feathery wings as well as the back leg. Also draw
in some of the front leg.
-STEP 5.
You will finish your baby griffin by
drawing the front legs, toes, and back toes. Draw in the tail then you can
start the clean up process. Do this by erasing the mistakes (if any), as well
as the guides.
-STEP 6.
Here it is, your new drawing of a
baby griffin. Now color it in and show folks what you have done.
23.baby hyda=
-STEP 1.
Start the first step by making three
shapes. Two for the heads and one for the body. You will need to draw a
connecting line as well.
-STEP 2.
Sketch out the actual shape of the
hydra's head and snout like so, then draw out the S style shaped neck. Once
that is done you can move to step three.
-STEP 3.
Draw the second head the same exact
way like you did the first. Once that is done you will draw the crest of the
chest, and then draw the back end of the body as well as the tail. Don't forget
to draw the thigh and foot.
-STEP 4.
Here is another step that will bring
you one step closer to the finished result. All you have to do now is draw out
the other head, then the chest, then the other foot. Sketch in the nice
detailing lines on the heads and separating lines for the chests.
-STEP 5.
For the last step, make the eyes on
each face, then draw the serrated lines which will form the mouths. You will
finish the faces off by drawing the nostrils, then draw the scales on the
chests. Lastly, make the spikes down the back as well as some spots on the
body. Erase your mistakes if you made any, as well as the guidelines and
shapes.
-STEP 6.
Here is what your baby hydra comes
out looking like when you are all done. Now you can go ahead and color in this
Mythology creature.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
24.pegasus=
-STEP 1.
Start by making a circle for the
head, and then add a connecting shape for the body like you see here. Lastly,
draw in some facial guidelines.
-STEP 2.
Now you will start sketching out the
shape of this easy Pegasus face, and head like so. When that is done start
drawing out the body, and then draw the tail like so.
-STEP 3.
Here is where you will start
sketching in the horses mane, and notice how I drew it hanging over the
forehead for added cuteness. When that is done, you can go ahead and draw in
the ears, eyes, and nostril holes. Lastly, draw out all the legs and include
the hooves.
-STEP 4.
Yes, you have made it to the last
drawing step. All you need to do is finish drawing the eyes and mane, and then
add some detailing on the hooves, and then draw out the flying wings like so.
Once that is done erase the lines and shapes you drew in step one to clean up
the drawing, and to add last minute detailing to the tail.
-STEP 5.
Here it is guys, your finished
drawing in an easy Pegasus. I hope you had fun as much as I did. Now you can
color in your fantasy creature so you can proceed onto a new drawing challenge.
25.zombie horse=
-STEP 1.
Begin by making two circles, one for
the head and the other for the body. Connect the two shapes with a neck line.
-STEP 2.
The next thing you want to do is draw
out the structure of the horse's muzzle and lower jaw. As you can see the
lining is very crooked and creepy looking. Draw the brow bone like so, and move
to step three.
-STEP 3.
You will finish drawing out the head
and face with this step. Start by sketching out the forehead, and then the rest
of the head structure by sketching the cheek bone. Draw in the spiked mane in
chunks instead of strands. Have some tips that are pieced out from each other.
You will then use the brow bones as a guide to draw in the bowl shaped eyes.
Darken under the eyes with a bold thick shading. Next, sketch in the creases
and wrinkles between the eyes, on the muzzle or nose, and then draw in the
exposed jaw with the teeth closed on each other. Draw the ears and add the
stitch lines.
-STEP 4.
This is probably one of the easiest
steps. All you have to do is draw in the chest or neck, and then draw out the
front legs. Make sure that you cap the ends of the legs with flattened hooves.
Don't forget to add some muscle definition around the shoulder.
-STEP 5.
Continue to sketch out the body by
drawing the rest of the thick neck, and then draw in the back, butt or rear
quarters, and then draw in the stomach and hind leg. Once that is done, you
have to sketch in the rest of the spiky mane on the back of the neck, and then
you need to make the tail too.
-STEP 6.
We can finish off the zombie horse
now that all of the body, head and face is all sketched in. Sketch out the hair
line at the bottom of each hoof, and then draw out the stitch lines that are
used to close up some of the gashes. Draw the hole and guts coming out of the
stomach and then clean up the drawing to prepare for color.
-STEP
7.
Here
is your finished drawing when you are all done. Now you can start the coloring
process to finish this drawing on a cool zombie horse.
26.zombie grifforn=
-STEP 1.
Start with a circle for the head and
then make another shape for the back end of the body. Connect the two shapes
with a body line before leaving this step.
-STEP 2.
Using the head shape that you just
made, begin sketching out the actual structure of the zombie griffon's head and
face. Start by drawing the top of the head, and then sketch in the large
pointed but torn ears. You will then sketch in the cheeks which are feathery
and low hanging.
-STEP 3.
Now that the basic shape of the
griffon's head is sketched in, we can work on getting the face drawn. Start by
making the shapes of the eyes and as you can see the top lid is thick, bold,
and darkened. Make both eyes this way, and then sketch out the detailing for
the ears, forehead and face. Draw the first gash and stitch it up.
-STEP 4.
This is a pretty easy step because
all you need to do is draw in the eagle style beak which happens to be open
with the tongue sticking out. Next, and lastly for this step, draw in another
gash on the cheek this time and stitch that wound up as well.
-STEP 5.
Now we can start working on getting
the body drawn out. The first thing that we will tackle is the upper body.
Having said that, sketch out the neck, and then with the same lining draw in
the chest. The coat of the griffin is real rank and tattered. The chest should
be drawn in a manner that there is actual hair chunks layered down the form of
the chest. Once this is done you are ready to draw in the arms or front legs,
and then draw out the detailing which is the long coat.
-STEP 6.
Before you start sketching in the
good stuff, you will need to finish off the upper body. Do this by drawing out
the talons or front claws, and then you can begin sketching in the detailing
like the surface flaws of torn flesh, and puncture wounds on the shoulder.
There is also another stitched up gash that you have to draw in on the chest
too so don't forget that.
-STEP 7.
Here is where you will start drawing
out the intestines which are pouring out of the gut of this zombie griffin.
After you have completed this step, you can move to step eight where you will
be closer to the end of this lesson.
-STEP 8.
Now you will draw out the large
tattered wings of the griffin. Even though the wings are not filled with flaws,
they are still not fluffy or new looking. Instead the ends of the wings
feathers are spaced and in chunks like you see here.
-STEP 9.
Now you will finish off this zombie
griffin by drawing the rest of the body. Start with the right side and sketch
out the rear end, and then draw in the leg and slightly oversized foot and
clawed toes. Draw out the other leg and foot, and then finish this step by
sketch in the long tail with a tuft at the end. Sketch in some surface
detailing and then erase the lines, shapes, and mistakes you drew earlier.
-STEP 10.
This is the
last step and as you can see it is what your line art should look like. Color
in the zombie griffin to your liking, and you are all done.
27.zombie jake(advanture time)=
-STEP 1.
First, begin with by lightly sketching the guidelines for the
body of Jake. Take your time with this step, because whatever is drawn after
this, will totally depend on how well structured your guides are.
-STEP 2.
Next, sketch the guides for the base of the head. Bake sure
you draw this guide lightly as well, and erase the 'grey' overlapping lines
after.
-STEP 3.
Now, let's work the magic of drawing the actual zombified
face of Jake! This part was fun, but it was tedious because I had to sketch
various positions and angles of the ears/muzzle to add movement to his action.
To start, just draw a simple nose right beneath the center of the guides.
-STEP 4.
Next, let's work on the mouth for Jake by sketching the upper
gums of the teeth and then the sharp edges. Take your time, and try to vary the
widths/lengths of them to add a sort of dynamic/mutated appearance.
-STEP 5.
Then, sketch the long flappy muzzle that droops across the
mouth. Because they're drawn at this angle, it will add dynamic movement to the
character, as if it were in action.
-STEP 6.
Sketch the tongue that droops outwards, and the lower jaw.
Wouldn't want to be bitten by those teeth now would we...
-STEP 7.
Let's begin the process of drawing the rest of the head by
sketching the eyes FIRST. Then we can move onto sketch the floppy ears. The
reason we want to draw the eyes first is to make sure the rest of the face is
drawn in proportion.
-STEP 8.
I know...take a deep breath, ok? This looks like a breathful
of panic because of so much to draw! That's why I have this listed as
'Advanced'. Anyways, work on one leg at a time, and try not to rush due to
frustration.
-STEP 9.
Now, the sticky gooey fun part! Let's sharpen are pencils a
bit more and slide over to sketching the torn fleshy parts. This part may be so
much fun for most of you gory flesh lovers, so take one step at a time! Use
thick outlines for the most detailed/gory parts and thin lines for the smaller
details (muscle tissue, intestinal details).
-STEP 10.
Lastly (though this step isn't necessary), we'll draw the
remains of Finn beneath his paws, as if he just devoured him whole. This step
is totally optional to add contrast and appeal to your drawing.
-STEP 11.
Be sure to
check your sketchy lines for any mistakes before you finalize your line art. I
prefer to use ballpoint ink pens or varied tipped Microns. I hope you guys
enjoyed this lesson, I will be back with more awesome tuts! Peace out and let
me know how you did, or if this tut was challenging enough (I've had a few
people tell me they want harder tuts!)
28.dragon=
- STEP 1.
Lets begin with this long, but
helpful tutorial on drawing a dragon for kids. We will start with the dragon
that is in the thumbnail. Start by making a round shape for the head, and then
add a long neck line. Once that is done attach the neck to the body shape which
sort of looks like an egg. Add one tail line, and then move along to step two.
- STEP 2.
Now that you have the guides all
drawn out, start drawing the head structure. This is basically thickening the
lines you already drew, but then add the shape of the nose.
- STEP 3.
Next, draw the horns, and then make
the shapes for the eyes.
- STEP 4.
All you have to do here is draw in
the eyeballs, and then color in two nostrils, and a crease on the bridge of the
nose.
- STEP 5.
Now you will be drawing out the body
starting with the thick neck. Move along to draw out the body, and then draw
the back end of the dragon until it comes out looking like a pillow.
- STEP 6.
Here you will draw out the front legs
and then the cute posed front feet. Be sure that the tips of each finger is
pointed.
- STEP
7.
Draw in the belly and then draw the
hind leg, foot, talons, and then the short stubby dragon tail.
- STEP 8.
Now that
your dragon is all drawn in, you can now just simply clean up the guidelines
and shapes that you drew in step one, and then draw out the wings.
- STEP 9.
This is what your dragon looks like
when you are all done. Now you can have fun picking a shade to color it in.
Proceed onto the helpful steps that will also show you how to draw a dragon
with frills, and how to draw a dragon head.
- STEP 10.
Start with a shape for the head, and
then draw a neck. Next, draw out the body shape which kind of looks like a
rock.
- STEP 11.
Begin shaping out the face which is
just the jaw line, and nose. When that is done move to the next step.
- STEP 12.
Now you will draw out the frills and
if you look closely they look a lot like fish fins. Draw the frills on the
sides of the head, and then on top of the head. Finish drawing out the head
before moving to the next step.
- STEP 13.
Draw in the shapes of the eyes, and
then draw the slitted pupils. Add dashes for the nostril holes, and then begin
drawing out the body and tail the way you see it done for you here.
- STEP 14.
Now draw in the front and back legs,
as well as the chest, and stomach. Be sure you take your time so you end up
with this awesome looking dragon.
- STEP 15.
Now all you have to do is draw out
the toes for the feet and then draw the detailing swirls on the elbows and
knees.
- STEP 16.
Erase the guides and shapes you drew
in the first step, and then draw out the one wing.
- STEP 17.
Now for the dragon heads. Make two
shapes that are sort of odd in lining. Add the facial guidelines to the head on
the right.
- STEP 18.
Now begin sketching out the structure
of each head the way you see it done here, and notice how the two are very
different in appearance.
- STEP 19.
Continue to draw out the heads. The
one on the left needs to have the nose and mouth drawn in, and the head to the
right has the jaw line and eyes all drawn in too.
- STEP 20.
Color in some eyeballs, and then draw
out the tongue for the dragon head to the left. When that is done continue to
draw out the head of the dragon to the right as well as the head frills.
- STEP 21.
Draw out the shapes of the necks, add
some detailing and you are all done. Erase the guides and lines from the first
step to clean up the drawing.
- STEP 22.
You have finished this full tutorial
on how to draw a dragon for kids which includes the body and head. Hope you
enjoyed this lesson and I also hope you learned something new.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
29.simpel dragon=
- STEP 1.
This dragon is simple enough to not
use guidelines. If you don't need guidelines, skip to step 5. First start with
a circle to show where the head will be. Add a line to show where the dragon is
looking.
- STEP 2.
Add a line of motion. This shows how
the dragon's body is positioned!
- STEP 3.
Draw two circles for the body! The
chest circle should be bigger than the hip circle.
- STEP 4.
Add lines to
show where the legs and wings should be.
- STEP 5.
Start
drawing the head. It is almost like a squished oval shape.
- STEP 6.
Add the cheek, which is a half
circle. The eyes are closed, so just draw a curved line. A circle can show that
this dragon has a nose.
- STEP 7.
I drew rounded triangles for the
horns. Since I am drawing a cute dragon, they aren't very big. You can draw
them however you want, though.
- STEP 8.
Start drawing the neck.
- STEP 9.
Draw the back and the front of the
chest. The front of the chest is almost a half circle.
- STEP 10.
Draw the dragon's arm. It doesn't
have to be very detailed. This shape is similar to a squished rectangle.
- STEP 11.
Draw the other arm.
- STEP 12.
Draw a curved line for the dragon's
belly.
- STEP 13.
Start drawing the back leg.
- STEP 14.
Finish the back leg. Remember that it
is thicker when it is closer to the body.
- STEP 15.
Draw the other back leg. Part of it
is hidden behind the other leg.
- STEP 16.
Draw the tail. It is only a triangle.
I drew a small tail to make the dragon look more cute, but you can draw it as
long as you want.
- STEP 17.
Draw a line for the first part of the
dragon's wing.
- STEP 18.
Connect a
line to the first line of the dragon's wing for the "finger" of it.
- STEP 19.
Finish drawing this finger of the
wing.
- STEP 20.
Draw the rest of the fingers. They
are just long triangles. They don't have to be too long if you want the dragon
to have cute, little wings.
- STEP 21.
Draw another line to connect the rest
of the wing to the body.
- STEP 22.
Draw the webbing between each finger,
then connect it to the body.
- STEP 23.
The wing on the other side doesn't
show much, so you can just add the side and top of it.
- STEP 24.
Add any details you would like the
dragon to have and you're finished! I added chest plating and skin where the
horn starts. Colour your dragon however you'd like if you want! Enjoy your new
little dragon!
30.helioptile(pokemon)=
- STEP 1.
You will start out by making an odd
circle for the head, then draw in the guidelines for the face and neck. Next,
draw the small shaped body, then proceed to step two.
- STEP 2.
Define and smooth out the head shape
for Helioptile. Then draw the neck shaft. You will tackle the body in later
steps.
- STEP 3.
Next, draw the visor like shape that
runs across the face like a mask, then draw in the oval shapes for each eye.
Add a triangle between the eyes, then add the mouth and nose or nostrils.
- STEP 4.
In this step draw the stomach, then
draw the front and hind legs. You will also need to draw out the long, but
stubby tail. Draw in the flat like feet and hands, then proceed to step five.
- STEP 5.
For the last drawing step all you
have to do is draw the long floppy ears, then draw in the caps on each ear.
Erase the mistakes then you're done.
- STEP 6.
Here is the line art when you are
done. All you have to do now is color in this new Pokemon species.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
31.fletchling(pokemon)=
-STEP 1.
Make a kidney bean shape for
Fletchling's body.
-STEP 2.
Here you will define the shape of the
bird's body then draw in the small wing as well as the small beak.
-STEP 3.
Next, sketch out the tail which is
perky, then add a marking on the wing.
-STEP 4.
Draw out the one eye for now, then
draw in the eyeball, markings around the eye and face, then draw in the
markings on the chest and tail.
-STEP 5.
We will finish Fletchling off by
drawing the cute birdie legs and feet. Erase any and all the mistakes that you
made.
-STEP 6.
The line art comes out looking
awesome and ready for you to color in. I do hope you enjoyed this Pokemon
installment.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
32.charmander
cubcake=
-STEP 1.
Well let's
start by drawing a bowl shape like you see here.
-STEP 2.
The next
thing you will do is draw or fill in the cupcake base by drawing the frosting
swirl.
-STEP 3.
Lastly, draw or color in the eyes,
add the nose and draw out the simple lining for the mouth. Erase any mistakes
that where made.
-STEP 4.
The line art will look like this when
you are all done.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
33.ash and
Pikachu(pokemon)
-STEP 1.
Start off by working on Ash. Draw a
large circle for the head, then add a facial guideline. You will then draw out
the body, then move to step two.
-STEP 2.
Thicken the lining that you made in
step one for Ash's face, then draw out the lid of his had. Make sure it's over
sized to match the chibi style.
-STEP 3.
Here we will work on drawing in Ash's
face. Do this by drawing the big wide open doe eyes, draw the bang, and then
draw in the nose bump, mouth and blush marks on the cheeks.
-STEP 4.
Next, draw the rest of Ash's cap or
hat like so, then draw out the detailing and design on the hat too.
-STEP 5.
All you have to do here is draw out
Ash's ears, then draw in the hair that is shown from the sides of his head near
the lower parts of his jawline.
-STEP 6.
Next, draw the neck as well as his
collar for the jacket. Draw out small chibi arms as well as his torso.
Remember, Pikachu will be clinging to Ash's shoulders.
-STEP 7.
Okay guys, draw the legs to finish
Ash off, then sketch out the detailing to his clothes. You will also need to
draw out his belt then the fingers.
-STEP 8.
For the last
step all you have to do is draw out his foot, then draw Pikachu behind Ash. He
looks like a small baby version of himself which makes Pikachhu super cute.
Erase the mistakes that you made, then proceed to step nine to see what your
drawing looks like when you're done.
-STEP 9.
Here is the finished drawing of
Pikachu and Ash. Now you can have a super time coloring him in to perfection. I
hope you liked this lesson on drawing Ash and Pikachu.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
34.pikachu
dragon=
-STEP 1.
Begin by making a circle for the head, then draw out the body
shape. Make the tail line with an electric bolt pattern at the end.
-STEP 2.
Begin drawing out the structure of the face or snout which is
also the mouth too. The mouth lining should have some points. Draw the two
horns like so, and give this Pikachu dragon some fluff on his head for added
cuteness.
-STEP 3.
Now we will draw in the face. Start with the eyes, then draw
the round marks on the cheeks. Line the tips of the horns, then draw in the
tongue, and nostrils.
-STEP 4.
Draw the back of the neck shape, then the front which turns
into the chest. Draw the start of the front legs, and sketch in some detailing
on the belly and chest.
-STEP 5.
Draw the lining to form the back, then draw in the hind leg.
Draw the toes, and finish off the dragon by drawing the thick electrifying
tail.
-STEP 6.
For your last drawing step all you have to do is draw in the
bat style wings, then draw the talons which should have a sharp look. Add the
detailing to the wings, then sketch in some tuft of hair on the back part of
the neck. Erase the mistakes and guidelines.
-STEP 7.
Here is what your drawing of a Pikachu dragon looks like when
you are finished. Now all you have to do is color him in.
35.pixie dragon=
-STEP 1.
Let's begin by drawing three shapes,
one for the head, one for the torso, and another for the back end of the
dragon's body. Connect the head shape to the torso with a neck guide.
-STEP 2.
The next thing you will do is sketch
out the shape or structure of the dragon's head. Start at the forehead and then
draw the snout as well as the mouth line, chin, and jawline.
-STEP 3.
We are going to keep the momentum
going by working on the head and face. Sketch out the back part of the dragons
frill shape behind the jaw, then draw the long horns and bony structure design
behind the head. Draw the eyes, nostrils, then some definition marks on the
snout.
-STEP 4.
Now that the head and face is
complete, we can tackle the task of drawing out the dragon's body. Start with
making the long neck like so, then draw the pocked out chest. Draw the arm and
hand, then make some frills on the elbow of this pixie dragon. You will end
this step by sketching out the thigh as well as adding some skin texture
definition.
-STEP 5.
Draw the back and tail lining for
your pixie dragon, then draw in the stomach, as well as the other leg. When the
legs are all drawn, sketch in the muscle detailing, then draw the long feet and
toes. Notice the tissue behind each foot, this is supposed to bring out the
fairy image in this dragon.
-STEP 6.
Now that your dragon's body is almost
all drawn in, you can get the tail sketched out. This should start off thick,
but then thin out as you can see here. The end of the tail should curl in a
boxy manner. Draw the other talon then sketch in the tail detailing up near the
butt area.
-STEP 7.
Now it's time to draw some beautiful
fairy wings on your pixie dragon. This is where you can be as creative as you
like. You can make the same style wings as you see here, or go with your own
style. You will need to draw some soft looking skin tissue down the tail as
well as some stringy frills. Erase your mistakes then you are ready to color in
your new dragon drawing.
-STEP 8.
Here is the pixie dragon when you are
done. Now you can choose a color pallet and begin the coloring process.
-STEP 9.
And with colors, this is what the
fairy dragon should look like!
36.dragon egg=
-STEP 1.
Make a circle for the head and then another larger one for
the body like you see here. Make a connecting line from the head to body and
then move to step two.
-STEP 2.
Draw the top part of the egg shell and as you can see it has
crack lines on the broken off piece of shell.
-STEP 3.
Using the shape you drew in step one for the head guide, draw
out the face structure first, and then draw in the snout, mouth line, and then
draw the eyes and small horn on the top of the nose like you see here.
-STEP 4.
Okay, lets get the egg out of the way and to do this all you
have to do is draw have of an egg shell. The broken part of the egg should be
drawn with straight edges and points. Add some cracks on the shell like so, and
proceed to step five.
-STEP 5.
Lastly for this step, all you have to do is draw out the long
neck, and then the wings which are still closed and hugging the body. Draw the
stripe on the chest, and then add the horizontal lines too. Make the spikes on
the back of the head and neck like so, and then begin cleaning up your drawing.
-STEP 6.
The line art looks awesome like you see here and it is all
ready to be colored in. Use your own coloring ideas to what type of dragon you
want to make into a hatchling. I went with a fire or red dragon from the depths
of the volcanoes. Thanks guys and good work!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
37.dragon
inside the egg=
-STEP 1.
Even though you will be drawing a
dragon inside of an egg, you will have to draw the baby dragon first. Start
with a head shape like so, and then make a line for the neck position which is
bent in an arch. Attach the end of the line to the body shape.
-STEP 2.
You will now start sketching out the
actual structure of the dragon's head. As you can see it is in a fetal pose
with the head bending downward. Draw the jaw line and then draw the spikes on
back of the head.
-STEP 3.
Continue to draw the neck, and then
draw in some of the back part of the body. When this is done make the arms and
small talons.
-STEP 4.
You will now be drawing the baby
dragon's wing which is normally wrapped around the lower part of the body like
a blanket. Once you have done that, you can sketch out more of the abdomen as
well as the back part of the body.
-STEP 5.
You are getting closer to the end of
this tutorial. All you have to do now is sketch out the legs and feet, as well
as the cute toes.
-STEP 6.
Finish the dragon embryo by drawing
the tail. As you can see the tail is curled upward which forms a ball or the
shape of the egg. Add some detailing to the wing and then clean up the baby
dragon.
-STEP 7.
Lastly, draw the shell that houses
the embryo like so using thick bold lining.
-STEP 8.
Here is your finished drawing of a
dragon egg when you are all done.
38.baby dragon=
-STEP 1.
First, let's start with the
guidelines for this baby dragon. Like I said in the tutorial description, try
drawing these guides accurately as possible so you'll have a successful
outcome. Draw these guides lightly on your paper!
-STEP 2.
Then, we'll move onto the head first,
since it's best to work from head to toe rather than body then head. Once
you've got your head drawn, the lower you work further, the easier it will be
to proportion the body correctly.
-STEP 3.
Next, we will sketch the facials
first before we shift our attention to the frills that hang at the left and
right sides of our dragon's face. Try drawing the facials aligned correctly by
making sure the pupils lineup diagonally with one another.
-STEP 4.
Now that the head is done, let's
start sketching the neck and back area for this baby creature. Sketch the neck
out first then move onto the leg instead of randomly drawing a region of the
body.
-STEP 5.
Let's finish the torso by sketching
the two front forelegs that support this dragon's pose upwards. Take your time
with the individual toes, keeping in mind the same amount of toes/fingers must
repeat throughout the four limbs.
-STEP 6.
To finish the backlegs and tail,
let's sketch the toes out and then the tail. The tail in this case is swirling
in a curved - crunched position.
-STEP 7.
Lastly, sketch in the underbelly
scales and then the wing. Draw the arm first before you draw the membranes or
wing fingers in between. It's best to evaluate where you will pose and place
the wing.
-STEP 8.
With essential cleanup and proofing,
you should have something similar to this. Ink out your drawing and vary your
line widths of each stroke. You don't want to have the same pixel thick lines
throughout the drawing, it would be hard to focus and uninteresting. I hope
ya'll enjoyed this tut, thanks so much for viewing and have fun with your new
drawing!
39.black dragon=
- STEP 1.
Like with the rest of the dragons you
drew in the past, you will need to draw a few shapes and guidelines. Start with
a head shape like so, make the neck guide and attach it to the torso shape and
then draw the oblong body shape. Lastly, draw the wing guideline.
- STEP 2.
You will now draw the outline or
structure of the dragon's head. As you can see it has one visible horn, and the
snout and mandibles have points and edges.
- STEP 3.
The next thing you will do is draw
the thick shape of the dragon's neck like so, and then move to step four.
- STEP 4.
Okay, you will now start drawing out
the dragon's mane which like horses starts at the top of the head. Continue to
draw out the mane or hair going down the neck in a flowing pattern, and then add
some detailing by drawing strand lines. Sketch in the spiral pattern in the
horn, and then draw in the eye, nostrils, teeth and reptilian tongue.
- STEP 5.
You are ready to move onto getting
the body drawn out, and as you can see the front legs and talons are very bold,
and thick. Draw the chest first, and then draw the wide or strong looking trunk
like legs, and then draw the toes. Sketch out the shoulder and then draw the
first part of the black dragon's wing.
-STEP 6.
This is actually the last drawing
step. All you have to do is draw the back, thick tail, and then draw the
stomach hind legs and feet. Notice how the toes are thick, long, and strong.
Sketch in some detailing around the toes and ankle and then finish drawing out
the dragon's wing. Erase the mistakes to prepare your dragon for awesome color.
-STEP 7.
All you need to here is draw out the
neck, belly, and tail scaling like you see here. Instead of normal horizontal
lines, I went with a more detailed patterned and draw V shaped lines down the
chest. Sketch in the nails or claws like so, and then sketch in some of the
muscle detailing and definition on the body. You will finish off this dragon by
adding some hair on the tail, and then draw in the other skin based wing. Don't
forget to add some muscle definition to the wing arm like so.
-STEP 8.
Your black
dragon is all done and ready to color in. I really do hope that you had a blast
with this tutorial, because I had a lot of fun drawing it out for you all.
40.sun dragon=
-STEP 1.
Begin with drawing out the lines and
shapes to form a workable frame for your sun dragon. As you can see the body is
in a curved like pose, but you can do whatever you like.
-STEP 2.
Starting with the head guide, begin
sketching out the profile of the dragon's face and head like you see here. The
snout should be long and the mouth is obviously open. Draw in the attached horn
the comes off the forehead, then draw in the eye, and frill on the back part of
the jaw.
-STEP 3.
Here we will continue with drawing
the frills in the form of flames. All you have to do is start with a circle
pattern but instead of smooth lines, you will make fiery edges. Add detailing
to the cheek frill, then draw in the tongue and teeth.
-STEP 4.
You will now draw out the body. Like
I said in step one, the body pose is on a slither, so when you draw the neck,
make sure to draw the neck and torso in the pattern of an S. Sketch out the
front arms, then draw the hind legs, or thighs like you see here.
-STEP 5.
Continue on with drawing the body
until the tail is completely drawn out. I didn't want to include a tuft at the
tip of the tail because I thought that the wings was enough flames. When the
tail is finished, draw the rest of the legs which includes the feet. Sketch in
the body definition like so, then you can start erasing the guidelines within
the dragon's body.
-STEP 6.
You will work on getting the wings
drawn out. Start by drawing the arm of the wing like so, then from there make
the wispy looking flaming wing. The ends or edges should be drawn in a rugged
or ruff manner.
-STEP 7.
Repeat exactly what you did in step
six, to step seven. You will try to draw the left wing the same way you did the
right. When you are satisfied with the results you can begin erasing the
mistakes you made.
-STEP 8.
In the end your drawing of a sun
dragon should come out looking like the one you see here. Now all you have to
do is color in your artwork.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
41.moon
dragon=
-STEP 1.
To start, we will need to draw a
shape that is circular for the dragon's body pose of motion. Begin with one
single stroke that is capped with a head shape and sectioned off with an oblong
shape for the moon dragon's body.
-STEP 2.
For step two, you will begin
sketching out the dragon's head from a profile state. Start with jaw, and then
continue on from there by incorporating the snout, face, and horns.
-STEP 3.
Now you will sketch in the detailing
to the face like the rippled scale lines that flow down the horns and face.
When that is done draw in the eye, nostrils, then carefully sketch in the
frills behind the jawline and for the beard.
-STEP 4.
Now that the head is complete, you
can proceed on with drawing the first part of the body which starts with the
long neck, then turns into the chest and mid section. Draw the front legs like
so, and be sure to sketch in the detailing for the legs as well.
-STEP 5.
Instead of drawing the body I thought
it would be cool to draw out the wings in a way that covers the body completely
in a cloak like fashion. The edges of the wings should be drawn with wispy
cloud like design, or you can choose to go with a style that you think would
look better. Add detailing throughout, then proceed to step six
-STEP 6.
Only one more drawing step after this
one guys so hang in there. What you will need to do now is draw out the rest of
the body which is the bottom section and the tail. Draw the back leg in a
relaxed manner, then sketch out the talons. Add detailing to the foot like so,
then you are done here.
-STEP 7.
Lastly, draw out the other wing that
will only be visible because it is wrapping on the body like you see here. Make
the edges the same way you did previously, then sketch in the final definitions
and detailing all over the body where needed. Erase the mistakes that you might
have made along the way.
-STEP 8.
When you are done your moon dragon
should come out looking like the one you see here. Now all you have to do is
color it in and add the moon in the background so that it cups it perfectly.
-STEP 9.
Here is what the entire image looks
like all colored in and with a background. I hope you liked this lesson,
because I know I loved drawing this dragon.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
42.DEATH
DRAGON=
-STEP 1.
This is a sketch I made that shows
the differences between the same dragon. As you can see the dragon to the left
is the death dragon dragon, and the one to the right is what the dragon would
look like if it wasn't full of death.
-STEP 2.
Start by drawing two shapes, one for
the head and the other for the body. Draw the connecting neck line.
-STEP 3.
Next up, you will start sketching out
the head structure of the dragon which is the forehead, snout, and jawline. The
mouth line should be drawn in a jagged manner.
-STEP 4.
Next, draw in the horns, as well as
the eye and some of the detailed lining on the lower part of the jaw.
- STEP 5.
Draw the entire neck shape as well
some of the body which is in the form of the spine bones. Sketch in the missing
tissue line and then draw some of the shoulder.
- STEP 6.
Next up, draw the arms as well as the
talons. Sketch in the detailing to the skin's texture or surface like so, and
then add lining for the belly and chest.
- STEP 7.
Okay guys here you will draw the
dragons legs. One in the front and the other in the back. Next, add the feet or
claws and then detail the legs before you leave this step.
- STEP 8.
Sketch in the exposed bone detailing
which is flowing up and down the neck. You're actually drawing the cartilage as
well as some membrane tissue as far as detailing. Add the lining for the
rib-cage, and then draw some toes on the hind leg or foot. Sketch some
definition on the legs and move to step nine.
- STEP 9.
Your death dragon is coming along
nicely. You will draw the back end, and then draw the hind leg. Make some nicely
arched claws on the back foot like so before you leave this step.
- STEP 10.
Before you draw the bony tail for
your death dragon, you will need to add some more detailing to the hind leg and
around the ankle. When you have completed this task, you can begin drawing the
exposed bony tail drawing each layer of bone at a time.
- STEP 11.
You will now start drawing the wing,
and as you can see it is lacking any real wing based tissue. Add detailing to
the arm part of the wing, and then draw in the exposed skeleton like teeth.
-STEP 12.
You will now draw the three finger
like bones for the dragon's wing and add the joint lines where applicable
-STEP 13.
Lastly, you will start sketching out
the decaying skin tissue on the wing, and then add all the last minute
definition on the wings. Erase all the mistakes as well as the guidelines that
you added along the way.
-STEP 14.
Here is the end product of your death
dragon. Now you can have fun coloring it in. Great work everyone.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
43.ELECTRIC
DRAGON=
-STEP 1.
Let us begin by making some of the
basic guides, shapes and lines to create a workable frame for our new dragon
drawing. You will need to make the shape for the head, then draw the curved
neck guide and attach it to the torso shape. Next, draw out another shape for
the thigh. Add the long tail line as well as the guides for the feet or talons.
-STEP 2.
We will now begin sketching out the
face and or sturcture of the dragons snout, head, and horns. The brow for the
eyes also need to be drawn in. Make sure the muzzle is drawn with lots of sharp
points.
-STEP 3.
Next, draw the thickness of the neck,
then draw in the dragon's shoulder as well as the first arm. Draw the clawed
talon like so, and add some detailing to the part of the body you just sketched
out. Also, draw in some of the stomach and chest.
-STEP 4.
Draw out the back lining to form the
back end of the dragon's body like so, then start sketching out the hind leg
and foot which should be bigger than the front claws, hands, or talons. Draw in
the other arm, then add a little more detailing to the reptilian body.
-STEP 5.
Draw out the other leg which includes
the thigh, foreleg, and foot. Next, finish off the body by drawing out the long
bolt shaped tail like you see here. You should also sketch out the detailing
for the crotch area too.
-STEP 6.
We will now focus on getting the
wings drawn out. Notice that the wings have a rawness to them. The are large,
and the tips are spaced pretty good for maximum flight and speed. Draw in the
clawed tips, then add some detailing so they come out looking sort of like bat
wings.
-STEP 7.
All you have to do now is sketch in
all the detailing that makes the dragon stand out like the sharp frills on the
head, neck, back and tail, then sketch in the face as well as the tongue, and
horn definition. You will also need to define the wings. I suggest that you do
all this after you erase the mistakes you made throughout the lesson.
-STEP 8.
Here is what the finished drawing
looks like as line art. Now you can have even more fun coloring it in. Look
below for the full colored image of this electric dragon.
-STEP 9.
Here it is, the whole image colored
in. I love the colors because they capture the very essence of all the energy
that this dragon has.
44.skeleton dragon=
-STEP 1.
Now, here's something cool I wanted to express in this
tutorial, mainly because dragons vary in a crapload of sizes. The common dragon
height (in my opinion) is 30ft tall (including wing height as well). They are
typically larger than a Tyrannosaurus Rex, initially the bigger and better
predator. With the ability of flying, breathing fire and large jaws, this beast
can max out any predator on two legs. If on the other hand a dragon is dueling
its own kind, competition will vary on the age/skill of a dragon's capability
of battling. On another topic, notice how the size of an average 5ft person is
out-sized by these two ferocious beasts. Imagine being face to face with a huge
30ft tall beast?! In conclusion, practice with various sizes for your dragons,
and don't go too tall unless it's a rare (nearly extinct) colossal fire
breather. But again, experiment!
-STEP 2.
gaHere's another step I'd like to
stress a bit more since lots of artists tend to go way too extravagant with
their interpretations of dragons. Enlarge the image and read the individual
tips and key points about this skeletal structure. Knowing the boundaries of
this creature is very important since it will aid you to your success of
creating a unique and logically correct dragon.
-STEP 3.
Well, you will start by drawing some basic guides and shapes
to form a frame for your dragon skeleton. Start with a small head shape, and
then draw the neck guide. Attach the neck to an oval torso, and make another
circle for the back end. Draw the wing and limb guides before leaving this
step.
-STEP 4.
Here you will begin drawing out the skull for the dragons
head. There is only two horns, so make sure you add those as well. Sketch in
the serrated edging for the top and bottom jaw, and make sure that the
mandibles or lower jaw is pointed and jagged.
-STEP 5.
The next thing to do is draw in all the hollow holes on the
skull. This is going to be for the eye, nose, and temple. Draw in the skeletal
teeth, and then move to step six.
-STEP 6.
Take your time with this step because you will be drawing the
neck bones or neck vertebra. Next, draw the shoulder and chest bone and then
move to the next step.
-STEP 7.
You will now draw in the first of the front leg bones
starting with the coracoid. Next, draw in the ribs, and some of the back spine
bones. Take your time so the bones come out nice.
-STEP 8.
Next, continue to draw in the front leg by drawing the joint
gap and then the ulna which is the forearm looking bone. Draw the bones for the
talons which is a combination of the carpus and metacarpus bones.
-STEP 9.
Start this step by drawing the pelvis or ilium bone, and then
continue to draw the thigh or femur bone, followed by the tibia and ankle bones
as well as the foot and toe bones.
-STEP 10.
You will now draw the wing bones or the wing humerus which is
the lower portion of the wing bone, and then draw the wing radius bone which is
the upper part of the wing.
-STEP 11.
You will now draw out the wing phalanges which is the finger
bones for the wing. Make sure to draw the thumb bone and then draw the tips or
nails at the ends of each wing bone.
-STEP 12.
Lastly, draw the tail bones and vertebra like so, and make
sure to take your time because these bones are very fine, and get smaller as
you go down the tail to the tip. Clean up the drawing and you are all done.
-STEP 13.
Here is the
final step now that you are all done. I hope you learned something new and I
also hope you liked this tutorial on drawing a dragon skeleton.
45.baby deathwing dragon=
-STEP 1.
Lil Deathwing is an exact replica of
the real deal Deathwing. So let's get started. Begin by making two circle
shapes, one for the head and the other for the body. Draw a wing guideline and
move to step two.
-STEP 2.
Begin the second step by drawing the
very strong looking metal armored jaw structure. You will then draw the teeth,
as well as the bold at the side of the mouth or jaw. Notice the under-bite this
dragon has.
-STEP 3.
For the next step you will be drawing
the head, and horns. The eye is actually part of the horn like you see here.
Make another smaller spiked horn in the center of the head and then draw plated
armor on the back part of the dragon's head.
-STEP 4.
You are now ready to start drawing
the body. Begin with a neck line, and then sketch out the armor plated chest
all the way down to the stomach. Next, draw the arms and thick talons or hands
like so. Add detail and definition before you leave.
-STEP 5.
Finish drawing a majority of the body
which is the back of the neck, the back, tail, leg and foot. Notice the spear
tip at the end of the tail. When this part is done you can get started with the
wing. Begin by drawing the bone or arm and finger parts of the wing.
-STEP 6.
Now you can draw the skin based
tissue to complete the wing. Notice the edges of the wings are tattered. Add
detailing, and then draw the other leg and foot. You will also need to sketch
in scale definition on the leg and foot like you see here.
-STEP 7.
Before finishing up, erase your
mistakes and guides, then get busy adding the last bits and pieces which is all
the definition and detail that will bring texture to the dragon's body.
-STEP 8.
Here is Lil Deathwing when you are
all done. I hope you had fun with it, join me again for more drawing fun.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
46.white
dragon=
-STEP 1.
For the
first step what you will be doing is drawing out the head shape for the dragon,
and then make a neck line like so. At the bottom of the line you just drew,
draw another shape for the body. Next, draw the long curled guideline for the
tail, and then draw in the wing guides.
-STEP 2.
The second step is to get the
dragon's entire head and snout drawn in. Start by making a straight forehead
lining, and then draw the open jaw as well as the serrated lining for the teeth
inside. Make the pointed frills on the back of the head like so.
-STEP 3.
You will now draw in the eye, but as
you do this, you will need to darken the area around the eye for added
detailing and texture definition. Sketch in the definition for the frills, and
then draw the teeth, as well as the long thin, curled up tongue. Sketch in a
nostril, and then move to step four where you will tackle more of this white
dragon.
-STEP 4.
Draw the shape of the long neck like
so, and then incorporate the lining to create the arm and talon or fingers. As
you can see the arm is sort of stubby and curled in.
-STEP 5.
Continue with the lining until the
back, butt, and stomach. Notice how the lower part of the body or stomach sinks
inward, this is because I was going for a snake like dragon. Draw the legs and
exaggerated sized feet, and then add some minor detailing to the body or limbs.
-STEP
6.
Continue drawing the body until the
tail is drawn in a snake like manner. You will also need to draw the other leg
like so, and move to step seven.
-STEP 7.
For step seven, all you have to do is
draw the other arm, and then draw in the bone for the arm of the wing, and then
move to step eight.
-STEP 8.
Instead of drawing a skin based wing,
I went ahead and draw a feather based wing. Draw three layers of feathers like
so, and then draw in the detailing all over the feathers for added texture and
definition.
-STEP 9.
Okay, I also wanted to draw in some
feathery strands of hair in a downward flow, and then draw the other wing on
the opposite side.
-STEP 10.
Sketch in the stomach detailing by
drawing the scales up and down the body and tail, and then sketch in the body
detailing along the side of the body, the legs and on the nails. Clean up the
drawing and you are all done.
-STEP 11.
Here is the finished line art when
you are all done. Color in your new dragon and move onto something new.
47.ghost dragon=
-STEP 1.
First, let's start with the essential
guidelines that will form he basis of the body. You'll want to draw these as
accurate as possible or maybe skip them if you feel brave enough. Use varied
circles and try keeping them from relating in size. Also note to draw these
guides LIGHTLY and your future lines if you want to consider having neat lines.
-STEP 2.
Then, we will start forming our
dragon by starting with the head FIRST. I cannot stress enough that by starting
with the head is extremely helpful. Not only does it proportion the body
easily, but it will credit your drawing speed in the future. Our dragon has
lots of angular shapes since he IS a beast of fury and deathly gallows ;)
- STEP 3.
Let's finish the head by sketching
the facials, which have a pattern smothered around the eye. This gives the
dragon a ghastly appearance of tire and ware. Use light lines for further
detailing in the horns and teeth. You don't want to use the same line weights
constantly. It will distract attention from the overall focal point of the
dragon.
- STEP 4.
Let's get risky and challenging by
drawing the entire neck and the shape of the back. I do this because of the
ease at drawing the rest of by body by establishing a defined area to place
your future lines. Sketch lightly, and try not to stray from the grayed
guidelines. Trust me, they help.
- STEP
5.
We'll engage ourselves into creating
the arms and fingers for this creature. You'll want to start with the base of
the arm first, then work your way onto the fingers first, regardless of the
details. First comes the shape, THEN the detail.
- STEP 6.
Look at our success! Next, time to
draw the leg. Now this may look intimidating, but it isn't once you've start
sketching. Draw the underbelly first and then the beginning arch of the leg.
Keep your distance and measure the width of the leg/toes compared to the arm.
You don't want to have a huge leg and small body.
- STEP 7.
Finish the rest of the legs and the
spiral of the tail. You can go all crazy on the flames, perhaps add your own
zest to it. It all depends on your skill level with drawing dragons.
- STEP 8.
Time to sketch the basis of the wing
by starting with the arch of the wing arm and eventually the overlapping
fingers/membrane. I like to draw my wings overlapping to add diversity and
motion to the creature. Remember to use angular shapes for most of the these
lines.
- STEP 9.
Then, finish off the wing, keeping in
mind that because this dragon is of the undead, you'll have to sketch ripped
and torn wings. Maybe you can use this feature on the rest of the body. Maybe
torn limbs or ripped flesh. I wanted to keep this simple for all you avid
dragon artists!
- STEP 10.
Let's simply draw the background
wing, using light lines for definition. That wasn't so hard!
- STEP 11.
Lastly, using VERY LIGHT lines, detail
the belly with thick plated scales. This is essential for this guy, since it
will ad contrast and depth to the overall drawing.
- STEP 12.
With further improvement on the
proportions, line art, and careful observation, you should have something like
this. If not, then redraw using the tutorial, or add your own little twist. I
hope you guys enjoyed another addition of a dragon tut. Thanks so much for
viewing and don't forget to leave your suggestions for the next mythical drago!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
48.anthro
dragon=
- STEP 1.
First, let's begin by drawing the
essential guidelines that build the form and proportions of this anthro. I
would prefer drawing the head circle first, then the midsection. Take your time
with this procedure to enlighten your luck with success.
- STEP 2.
Then, let's draw the top of the head,
keeping in check of the various shapes that curve around the shapes. Sketch
through this lightly until you've got a first draft.
- STEP 3.
Next, let's sketch the regions of
detailed horn, nostrils, and eye which is slightly cartoony. Start the jaw by
drawing the first lip then the outer one that surrounds it. This way, you'll
have a better insight on the jaw form.
- STEP 4.
Sketching the neck, carefully sketch
the muscles that form around the neck and the shoulders. Stop drawing after
you've finished the chest, which is rather empty in the middle in place for the
arm.
- STEP 5.
Taking a deep breath, let's sketch
the arm that overlaps the chest, rather than the arm that's to the right. Make
the fingers almost dinosaur-like but still somewhat humanoid.
- STEP 6.
Shifting our expertise of attention
to the pelvis and legs; let's keep the outlines bold. Use light line weight for
the inner details formed around the shapes, defining muscle on the dragon.
- STEP 7.
Once again, take a deep breath and
prepare to draw the feet and claws inclining into the thighs. I suggest drawing
the left side first, mainly because it's easier to handle. Keep the claws
sharp, similar to a dinosaur or chicken foot. Detail the ridges with light
scales to add heavier composition. Once you've completed the legs, sketch the
tail. At this point, it should be easy.
-STEP 8.
Let's start off with the left wing
first, practicing the process to make drawing the right wing easier. Never draw
too much random regions! It will confuse you from drawing the wings equally.
Finish by drawing the right wing, using light line wights for the wing fingers.
-STEP 9.
Enclose the wings by drawing the four
major finger points on the wings. The reason we draw only four wing
fingers/membrane sections, is because the wing finger at the top sums to five
fingers, similar to a human. I'm adding half of human and half of dragon into
this tut.
-STEP 10.
Lastly, using light line weight, draw
the scales that detail the underside of the dragon. For example, the neck,
chest, thighs and the underside of the tail. This add a melodic look of a
reptilian creature and human.
-STEP 11.
With further proofing your draft,
you're ready for inking! Ink your drawing with either Micron pens or markers to
result with bold and clean lines similar to the ones above. I hope you've
enjoyed this lesson, thank you so much for viewing! Peace and love!
49.light dragon=
-STEP 1.
Make a simple circle for the head and
then draw out the long, curled line for the body. This is also going to be the
pose that the light dragon is going to be in.
-STEP 2.
Now begin sketching out the actual head
shape of the dragon which is oblong in size. The horns and ears should also be
drawn in too. I'm sort of basing this dragon on the Chinese version, which is
why there is the mustache.
-STEP 3.
Okay, here is where the challenging
fun starts. You have to draw in the eyes, nose, and mouth and then draw in the
inner ear detailing. Next, draw out the long serpent shape of the neck like so,
and then you can add the simple whiskers.
-STEP 4.
Now you can draw out more of the
light dragon's body, and then draw out some of the chest, and the first arm.
Make the claws and then draw in the soft flowing mane that is trailing down the
back of the head and body.
-STEP 5.
Draw more of the slithering body and
then when you get to the end of the body, start turning the tail inward. Make
some marking lines for the belly.
-STEP 6.
Draw out the other arm and talon, and
then draw in the skin padding on top of the hand or arm.
-STEP 7.
Now you are finally ready to finish
this tutorial by drawing out the tail and tuft at the end. Erase the mistakes,
as well as the guides that you made in step one, and then you are all done and
ready to go.
-STEP 8.
Here is the finished line art when
you are done with your light dragon drawing. I hope this is what you expected,
and be sure to let me know what you think by rating commenting, and faving.
50.shadow dragon=
-STEP 1.
First begin with the basic guidelines
for your dragon, by starting with three simple circles that vary in sizes. The
largest circle acts like the frame for the chest, same goes for the circles for
the head and back area. It's best to get these guidelines as accurate as
possible for proportion issues.
-STEP 2.
Next, we'll start off with the simple
shapes of the dragon's head, which looks very much like a throne (something I
wanted to emphasize to give power to thise shadowy dragon). The face is slender
but bulky at the same time, to retain some kind of strength.
-STEP 3.
Then, we will finish off the facials
while using light line work to keep variety within this creature. Take your
time my fellow artists!
-STEP 4.
Let's work our way to finishing the
neck off so we can prosper to the torso. The neck should be slim but believable
enough to glue the body together believably. Make sure the frills are drawn
correctly as well. Adding torn areas will only make the dragon deathly and
shadowy.
-STEP 5.
Now, we're going to work on the torso
which is butted outwards to emphasize power but also devine shadows. Make sure
you sketch the attaching arm correctly so it looks belivable anatomy wise. I
had fun with this part!
-STEP 6.
Next, we'll sketch out the backing as
well as the tail which is curling upwards beneath his chin. This is also a key
point of 'mischevious' attitiude.
-STEP 7.
We'll sketch the rest of the limbs,
getting ready to sketch the large wings. Wouldn't it be cool to see this dragon
in flight? I know it would for me! Again, having torn areas will only convey a
creepier and dark presence.
-STEP 8.
It's time to sketch the huge,
structured wings which support the flight of this dragon. Do not draw them too
large or too small, it has to be just right to make the flight believable. Take
your time, and refrain from rushing!
-STEP 9.
Lastly, we'll finish off the wings by
sketching a few details as well as the second wing and the membrane. Take your
time to evaluate where to place the ripped regions.
-STEP 10.
With prior cleaning up, proportion
check and other proofing, you should have something similar to this. Make sure
before you ink the dragon out, that you use a great tool like Micron pens or
black markers (art markers *copics* not kiddy kinds). Anyways, I hope you've
enjoyed this lesson, thanks for viewing!
51.sandwitc =
-STEP 1.
The first thing you need to draw is
the shape of the bread slice. It's in rectangle form so you might want to grab
a ruler to draw in the lines if you have a problem with making straight lines.
The left lower corner of the bread has a slanted notch. Add one guide.
-STEP 2.
Using the funky shape you drew in
step one, begin sketching out the actual shape of the slice of bread. This is a
regular slice, and if you follow the steps image you should also have a drawing
like the one you see here.
-STEP 3.
Believe it or not, but you will be
drawing the face on this piece of bread right now. Start with the jellybean
shaped eyes and then draw the mouth.
-STEP 4.
You will now draw out the first layer
of yummy goodness. This can be lettuce, meat, or even a few tomatoes. For me I
choose for it to be salami and a tomato slice.
-STEP 5.
Now you will draw out the cheese
slice and like I said in the description, it is a piece of Swiss. I know the
coloring shade is yellow, that is only because the sandwich would have looked
funny with a white piece of cheese. Draw in the holes and move to step six.
-STEP 6.
Now comes the lettuce and notice how
the edges are jagged. Draw this in, and move along still.
-STEP 7.
Draw in the final piece of bread and
tweak the food a bit. Clean up the drawing and you are all done.
-STEP 8.
When you done you should have
yourself a tasty sandwich like you see here. Color it all in and show someone
what you have drawn.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
52.ice
dragon=
-STEP 1.
Make a few circles, one for the head,
another for the body, and then draw one more shape for the very end of the
body.
-STEP 2.
You will now begin sketching out the
actual structure of the dragons head, face, horns, and the neck. Make some of
the chest too. The lining as you can see is a bit bumpy and has a few angles.
This is because the dragon is made of ice.
-STEP 3.
On the back of the dragon's neck, you
will begin drawing out the spikes of ice that are supposed to be frills. Once
that is done, sketch in the face which consists of an eye, snout wrinkles or
folds, and some sharp overlapping teeth. Add in some detailing and definition
on the neck and face, than move to step four.
-STEP 4.
You will now sketch out the right
shoulder, arm and talon. As you can see the front talons of an ice dragon is
much smaller than that of an earth or water dragon.
-STEP 5.
Moving forward, tome to sketch out
the left shoulder, arm, and talon. Draw in the back and some of the stomach and
before you leave this step, sketch in some definition on the arms and draw in
the claws.
-STEP 6.
Simply take your time as you begin
sketching out the right back leg and foot, and when you are done you can add
detailing and definition to make it look muscular and toned.
-STEP 7.
Next, sketch out the left hind leg
and foot like so, and be sure to draw in the hind leg resting on the toes. Add
some detailing to the leg as well, and then move to step eight where you will
move even further to completion.
-STEP 8.
Well this is the second to last step
which means you will be finishing off this lesson with step nine. All that is
needed here, is the creation of the first wing. This is an ice based wing but
in drawing form, it looks a lot like a skin based wing. The arm and fingers are
very strong looking so be sure to make them thick and hearty.
-STEP 9.
For the last step, you can first clean
up your ice dragon by erasing the guides and mistakes. After that, draw in the
tail, and add some detailing. Notice how the tail has angles unlike the
original smooth curled tail.
-STEP 10.
When all the
hard work is done, your drawing should end up looking awesome like the line art
you see here. Color in your ice dragon and submit your artwork to the site for
all eyes to see.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
53.air white
dragon=
-STEP 1.
First start with the basic essential
guidelines for the dragon. It's best to try to get these guides drawing
accurately as possible so you'll have a better shot proportioning your dragon
sketch.
-STEP 2.
Next, draw the head, retaining a bit
of the facial features with it. The horns of this dragon play a big role since
I wanted a mystical and natural feel (like that of deer in a forest), also, a
pair of white butterfly like designed wings. These fit perfectly with the horns
if you noticed, I've added two pairs of each (wings and horns). This is called
“symbolism” in artwork!
-STEP 3.
Then, we will finish off the facials
by adding the rest of the horns as well as completing the mouth. Take a break
before the next step, 4.
-STEP 4.
It's time to sketch the long, slender
neck for this Air elemental dragon. Keep the neck in perfect proportion, having
it taper into a larger torso, then flowing back to a slender shape. I like to
have variety in my dragons, including line art.
-STEP 5.
Let's draw the wings! I prefer to
draw the wings as the arms first, before you add the backwings. Take your time
with each, since it totally depends on how accurately you draw them, comparing
to the finalized image.
-STEP 6.
Next, let's finish off the torso by
sketching the last wing!
-STEP 7.
Lastly, we'll complete the drawing by
sketching the rest of the body. Don't worry about the tail trailing at the
upper left of the body, we'll sketch that in after the main part is done.
Afterwards, move onto the tail piece!
-STEP 8.
With additional cleanup and
proportion proofing, you should have something similar to this. I took my time
with my dragon drawing, and it's best if you do the same. I hope ya'll enjoyed
this tut as much as I had creating it. Thank you so much for viewing and stay
tuned for my other elemental dragons!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
54.earth
dragon=
-STEP 1.
Begin by drawing a total of three
shapes, one for the head, another for the torso or chest, and then the end one
for the back or butt end. Connect the first two with a neck guide.
-STEP 2.
You will immediately start taking
your time as you draw out the head, muzzle and jaw of this earth dragon. You'll
want to emphasize roots of this creature, mainly because it's portraying an
earthy feel. Make sure you vary the sizes of each root.
-STEP 3.
Next, we will flesh out the facial
features, and the horns which are branches with sparse leaves. It's best to
emphasize various chains of leaf area so it'll vary the drawing, making it more
appealing. My favorite part was drawing the back of the dragon, the branches of
entangled roots and a separate tree, making the Earth dragon seem as if it was
submerged into the ground...now wouldn't THAT be a cool tut ;)
-STEP 4.
Let's move onto the torso area,
probably a difficult part because of all the details that's cluttered into a
confined space. Let's work on the chest first before we scatter to the arm,
which is also similar to a tree form. Make sure you create each boulder in
various sizes, to vary your drawing. I cannot stress enough the importance of
variation since it really brings out the feel in a drawing. Try sketching these
lines quickly so you'll have a better chance getting an accurate line.
-STEP 5.
To finish off the torso, add the
other arm, keeping in mind it's comparison to the first one.
-STEP 6.
Let's finish off the back part of the
body so this dragon will be standing normally ;) Create the leg first before
you move onto any interior details, you don't want to draw details first then
exterior work, it'll end up a mess! Once you've done that, add the tail and
more boulders or rocks. Notice how I have pieces of rock shifting off the body,
creating an illusion that this creature is moving.
-STEP 7.
Lastly, we will draw the tree leaves,
extra branches, and the wing to complete this piece! Keep the lineart for the
tree details thinner than the rest, so it will add variety to the drawing
overall. The wings should also resemble wood like feel as well.
-STEP 8.
With essential cleanup and careful
observation, you should have something similar to this. Now, if you want to
have similar lines, make sure you ink your drawing either digitally, or
traditionally (inking pens). I really hope you've got a kick outta this lesson,
as much as I had making it. Thank you all so much for viewing!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
55.dragon
heads=
-STEP 1.
This is a rough sketch of how a
dragon head should look when viewing or drawing it from the front. The neck is
almost perfectly aligned with the jaw bones, and the eyes are almost perfectly
aligned with the snout of the beast.
-STEP 2.
Here is a sketch of a dragon head
drawn in a 3/4 view angle. As you can see the horns seem different and the eyes
and nose still seem to be aligned.
-STEP 3.
A sketch of a dragon's head drawn
from a side view profile. You can see how the characteristics of the dragons
face seems to flow in a backwards motion.
-STEP 4.
These are the different types of
frills that are usually seen on the heads of dragons. Of course you can choose
not to sketch in a set of frills, but I almost always add them to my dragon
drawings.
-STEP 5.
Now that you've seen the different
types of frills you can draw on your dragon head, there is only one question to
ask now, where to put the frills. You can either draw them on the head, at the
snout, along the jaw, or behind the cheeks.
-STEP 6.
Before we actually start drawing the
dragon head, take a look at some of these different heads that I sketched for
this tutorial.
-STEP 7.
Start with a circle for the head, and
then draw in the lining for the snout and mouth of the dragon.
-STEP 8.
Here in this step all you have to do
is draw out the top and bottom jaws of the dragon in a very primitive or
skeletal way.
-STEP 9.
Before you sketch out the sharp
teeth, you will need to sketch out the shape of the dragon's eye like you see
here. Once that is done you can begin drawing out the teeth in a very uneven
manner. Once that is done you can color in some nostril holes.
-STEP 10.
Begin sketching out the actual
structure of the dragons head like you see here and don't forget to draw out
back jaw bone. You will also need to draw in some bony frills on the forehead,
and a couple of small horns on the tip of the nose.
-STEP 11.
Here you will sketch out the upper
angle of the dragon's mouth like you see here. When that is done you can also
sketch in more of the teeth, and then add some detailing as well.
-STEP 12.
Sketch in three large horns behind
the head, and then sketch out the beard as well. When that is done begin
drawing out the chin under the neck.
-STEP 13.
For the last drawing step all you
have to do is draw out the back of the neck, and then sketch in the stripes on
the horns, and under the neck like so. Erase the lines and shapes that you drew
in step one to clean up your newly drawn dragon head.
-STEP 14.
Here is your
dragon head when you are all done. Now you can draw out a body, or leave it the
way it is. Color in your dragon head for added detailing and texture.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
56.water
dragon=
-STEP 1.
As you know you will have to take
your time as you go through this lesson. Begin with a circle for the head and
then draw in two more shapes that are joined. Add a neck guide and move to step
two.
-STEP 2.
Begin sketching out the actual shape
of the dragon's head and snout. Since this is a water dragon, instead of being
a fire breather, it is a water breather. The messy looking mass is the water
that the dragon is spewing out.
-STEP 3.
Continue to sketch out the shape of
the head, and as you can see you will do this is a very calm manner or else
your water dragon is going to look funny. Draw the side of the jaw, the horns,
and the fin like frills. Sketch in the eye and brow bone for added definition
to the face.
-STEP 4.
Now that the head is all drawn in,
you start to get the body started. Begin with the shape of the neck, and then
draw the broad chest, back and some of the front legs.
-STEP 5.
To keep things simple I will break
down the steps in an easy to tackle manner. Instead of drawing both arms and
talons, just draw out the left one first. Once the arm, elbow, and clawed foot
is drawn in you can sketch in some detailing.
-STEP 6.
Step six entails you drawing out the
right arm and talon or clawed foot. There should be detailing and definition
sketched in on the arm and top of the hand, and then draw out more frills in a
fin like pattern.
-STEP 7.
We can now begin sketching out the
very predominate wings that seem to have less wing based tissue than most
dragon wings. Sketch in the detailing on the arm of the wing and then draw a
hook like nail at the elbow joint.
-STEP 8.
Sketch out the back end of the
dragon. This includes the back legs, and the extremely strong looking clawed
feet. Try to really get this part of the dragon's body drawn right. Part of the
massive effect that this element dragon displays is from the claws and back
feet.
-STEP 9.
Draw the rest of the dragon's back
and tail like so, and notice how the tuft at the tip or end of the tail looks a
lot like seaweed. Once the tail is drawn, you can sketch out the bone like
trail down the back of the neck, all the way down the tail. Sketch in the gills
on the side of the rib cage, and draw the neck line. Erase the mistakes and
guides to prepare this drawing for awesome color.
-STEP 10.
Here is what the line art looks like
once you are all done. The fun really begins because now that you just
conquered such a massive feat, you can color in the drawing.
57.fire dragon=
-STEP 1.
Begin by drawing out two shapes, one for the head and another
for the body. Connect the two shapes with a neck line.
-STEP 2.
Now you will start drawing out the structure of the dragon's
head and this should include the snout and all the pointed frills that makes up
the structure of the head. Be sure to draw in the mouth wide open.
-STEP 3.
Next, it's time for the extra detailing on the face. Work on
the mouth and then work your way to the eyes. Make sure you have these features
drawn boxy and sharp.
-STEP 4.
Ok, this dragon has a rather short next, mainly because I
wanted to emphasize it's bulkiness. I like keeping my dragons beastly and
thickened.
-STEP 5.
This is probably going to be hellah difficult, like I warned
at the beginning of the tutorial. I suggest you work on one arm then the other,
to make things easier for you. The claws are excessively big so this beast
looks massive. Try keeping keen details throughout the dragon so it looks
believable an stylish.
-STEP 6.
This might be an easy step considering there isn't much
detailing to the wings. Draw the arm of the wing first then work your way to
the overlaying piece. Afterwards, you can sketch out the beginning of the leg.
-STEP 7.
Next, let's work on finishing the wings, which should be
easier. Keep things simple and lines sharp and boxy.
-STEP 8.
Lastly, finish off by drawing the foot first, then the tail.
The feet should have the same amount of toes as the front legs. Like I said,
keep things sharp and bulky to exaggerate the height and strength.
-STEP 9.
With
patience and care in the lines, proportions, you should have something similar
to this. I had SO much fun with this dragon and might do more in this similar
style. I hope ya'll enjoyed this tutorial, and like I said before, if you want
more elemental dragons, let me know in the comments! Peace :)
